QNFS journey to ISO 9001: 2008 QMS certification.

During Q4 2012 the QNFS Board of Directors and the senior leadership team identified the absolute necessity of QNFS being certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Standard. A holistic framework for preparation, implementation and certification was crafted with the input and buy-in of all the stakeholders. This was a deliberate action to ensure that all the participants and responsible parties “owned” their portion of the required deliverables. The “Roadmap to ISO certification” was successfully rolled out to all functional leads in the first week of Jan 2013 with a target date for 3rd party audit (stage-2) certification by the second week of May 2013. Apart from internal commitments leading to the certification milestone date, QNFS also had external drivers which related to a certification requirement in a number of tender documents.

QNFS successfully completed stage 2 ISO certification through an audit by TUV SUD Middle East LLC (A subsidiary of TUV SUD AG Germany) on 29th April 2013 – thereby successfully achieving the milestone date as set out.

The teaming up of all the functional departments with a common goal enabled the 2nd stage certification audit completion ahead of schedule, and is yet another good example of the level of team work which exists within QNFS.

Due to the level of maturity and implementation of systems and processes at the various sites, the Qatar Shell GTL Site at Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar and the QNFS Corporate offices based in Doha, Qatar were the locations chosen to be audited.

The scope of the certification application for QNFS was: “Multidiscipline Maintenance and Asset (facility) Management Services for Diversified (Oil and Gas, Power and Infrastructure) Industries”.

The focus and mantra of QNFS Quality department has always been, and will always be, the identification of opportunities for improvement and alignment of our work processes.

One of the more important tasks during the certification exercise was to raise the awareness and build the level of trust and cooperation between the quality department and other discipline departments to the point where all parties were comfortable with the assistance, direction and guidance provided by the quality department, which undertook numerous initiatives during this process. This ensured the generation of all the required records for our core business processes, and helped the various functional groups to complete their high level documents (Manuals, Plans and Policies) and the related procedures / work instructions in a short time during the certification effort.

With all the up-front effort and preparatory work that was done, time flew by and the final days were soon upon the team where the 3rd party audits were conducted. The team proved to be well prepared and no non-conformances were found by TUV during the audit.

Delivering exceptional quality will always be the top priority at QNFS as a company. The ISO 9001:2008 accreditation proves our reputation and commitment to quality which enhances our customer’s confidence in their decision to partner with QNFS.

The success of the QNFS ISO 9001-2008 certification process has initiated plans within QNFS to further enhance the management system by implementing ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001 in the near future.

QNFS corporate framework is focused to drive excellence and is built around the vision and values set forth below:
